Listening Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026
Listening is a free audiobook player for public domain works from
LibriVox. We take your privacy
seriously. This policy explains what data the app does and does not
collect.
Data We Do Not Collect
Listening does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:
- No account or sign-up is required
- No personal information is collected (name, email, etc.)
- No analytics or tracking tools are used
- No advertising SDKs are included
- No data is shared with third parties
Data Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following data locally on your device only. This
data never leaves your device:
- Your listening progress and bookmarks
- Downloaded audiobook files
- Your favorites and library
- App preferences (theme, playback speed, etc.)
Network Requests
The app connects to the internet for two purposes:
-
Our API — to browse and search the LibriVox
catalog. No personal data is sent with these requests. To protect
the service from abuse, the server briefly counts requests per IP
address in memory; addresses are not stored or logged.
-
LibriVox / Internet Archive — to stream or download
audiobook audio files. These are third-party servers; please refer
to their respective privacy policies.
Children's Privacy
The app does not collect any data from anyone, including children. All
content is public domain literature.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, the changes will be posted on this page with
an updated date.
